Introduction

UTM Bandit ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our Chrome extension collects, uses, and protects your information.

Information We Collect

UTM Bandit is designed with privacy in mind. We collect minimal information necessary for the extension to function:

• Extension Settings: Your UTM parameter preferences (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content) and enabled/disabled state are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API. This data is synced across your devices if you have Chrome sync enabled, but it is not transmitted to our servers.
• No Personal Data: We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information, browsing history, or URLs you visit.
• No Analytics: We do not use analytics services or track your usage of the extension.

How We Use Your Information

The extension uses your stored settings solely to:

• Apply your custom UTM parameters to URLs that contain UTM parameters
• Remember your preferences between browser sessions

All processing happens locally in your browser. No data is sent to external servers.

Permissions Used

UTM Bandit requires the following Chrome extension permissions:

• Storage: To save your UTM parameter preferences locally in your browser
• WebNavigation: To detect when you navigate to URLs containing UTM parameters
• WebRequest: To identify URLs with UTM parameters that need modification
• Tabs: To update the URL in your current tab when UTM parameters are modified
• Host Permissions (<all_urls>): To work on any website where UTM parameters might appear

These permissions are necessary for the core functionality of the extension and are not used to collect or transmit any personal data.

Data Storage and Sync

Your extension settings are stored using Chrome's chrome.storage.sync API. This means:

• Settings are stored locally in your browser
• If you have Chrome sync enabled, settings will sync across your devices
• Settings are encrypted by Chrome during sync
• We do not have access to your synced data

Third-Party Services

UTM Bandit does not use any third-party services, analytics tools, or external APIs. All functionality is self-contained within the extension.

Data Security

Since all data is stored locally in your browser and processed on your device, your information never leaves your computer unless you have Chrome sync enabled (in which case it's encrypted by Chrome). We do not maintain any servers that could be compromised.

Children's Privacy

UTM Bandit is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.

Your Rights

You have full control over your data:

• You can view and modify your settings at any time through the extension popup
• You can reset your settings to defaults at any time
• You can uninstall the extension at any time, which will remove all stored settings
